Mano, W. (2005). Press freedom, professionalism and proprietorship: Behind the Zimbabwean media divide. Westminster Papers in Communication and Culture November 2005, 56-70.

This paper shows that the freedom of the press is undermined by the proprietors of private and public media. The article shows that journalists are willing to adapt to the wishes of their superiors. The other perspective given in this article is that journalists also resist to the current media environment. In the perspective of the researcher media must be open and without repression in order to start the democratisation.
