Missing: the bias implicit in the absent.

Dunsky, M. (2001). Missing: the bias implicit in the absent. Arab Studies Quaterly, 23(3), pp. 1-29.

Dunsky (2001) analyses the American press on how they cover the Israeli Palestinian conflict. The print media as well as television news is included in this research. Especially interesting is her analyses of how the American media frame the settlement issue in two periods. Thereby a broader perspective is possible on which frames do exist about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Besides that, this article will give a better understanding of America’s roll in this conflict. Dunsky (2001) also put a critical note on the fact that journalist play an important role in the understanding of this conflict. In the end she gives a few recommendations about how journalist should work and how they can contribute to better coverage of this conflict.
