Gunter, B. (2009). The public and media coverage of the War on Iraq. Globalisations, 6(1), 41–60.

In this article Gunter (2009) compared two previous studies, a survey experiment (BLIP) and a telephone interviews (MORI), to take a closer look what effect the media coverage, including embedded journalism, had on the public opinion during the war in Iraq. The overall conclusion is that most people (69%) encourage embedded journalism because it brings them “closer” to the war. People have to be aware of the dramatisation and Hollywoodisation of war though.
